Time to get back to work...
10/08/09 10:09
Summer's heat
has been blazing down during the day... followed by
the cool, summer night night breezes... creaking with
with night sounds of the creatures out back... I know
that Fall, and the beautiful harvest moon... is just
around the corner... I saw a tinge of red in the
Sassafrass trees yesterday... to me that's an evident
sign of summer's impending end... I kinda look
forward to it... I know it's time I start getting
back to the studio work... on "Shadow of a Crow"...

So I'm headin' back up to the studio... getting the old creative gears going in that direction... cookin' some ideas... ohhhh and the never ending lyrics that keep me up at night - rambling through my head... tune fragments haunt me... counter melodies echo... and I'm feeling ok... i want to embrace it all...

Here's a sample of one of my new songs... "Low Willow"... I did the guitar track... (sorry John) and our producer Tom White - Wizmak Studios - found a fella who played a really fun bass part for this and a few other of my tracks... but you know those bass players... sounds to me like he was havin' fun...
Here's a clip from the last studio work:
Low Willow - J Mylod - Shadow of a Crow Clip for website
So... I'm lockin' down... and going into studio mode, hermit land... haha... ta ta for now!

August 2, 2009 - Kirbys Mill Art Show & Sale! A WET ONE!
02/08/09 19:21
Today was
quite a day at Kirby’s Mill Art Show &
Sale… The skies were heavy and threatening as
we set up. I was grateful the tent was still
there… after the last few days of tremendous
wind and rain that hit the area!
We were all happy to see our dear Johnny boy again... we've missed you Darlin'!!! Here was the sunshine kinda smile we needed to get through the day!

We started playing our music… and almost on que… the lightening began… Then thunder commenced as a herald of the rain - that began to beat down so hard we could hardly hear ourselves play, speak or sing.

The air was thick with moisture… the skies became even darker… SO dark, the ‘night sensor’ spot lights came on outside the Mill. The day turned to night, and still and we played on...

Driving rains pelted in, we got drenched… and only pausing briefly… to baton down the hatches… we carried on! I fleetingly felt like the band on the Titanic… lol… I’d holler out between sets to various vendors - over the roar of the storm… and hear hoots and hollers back from the shelter of various tents… so I knew there were still brave folks out there - beyond the thick sheets of rain that smudged my vision of the outside world…
We hunkered down - into the center of the shelter of the tent... gathering our wet instruments to us in a tight circle… and we kept playing… Eventually, the rain subsided… and though the sun never really came out… the brave, remaining folks crept damply from their shelters… and we had a good laugh!

So I’m home now... Contemplating this day... GEES... I'm frizzy haired to the EXTREME...(OOF!!!) kinda-rather soggy... a bit tired and worn... but I can see something... So here ya go:
Moral of the story? What does this teach us? That with friends, kindred spirits... a bit of patience, insight and faith... we will find good things - even under difficult circumstances. We will find that "bad weather" can NOT keep a good woman down!!! For we need to always... 'ride through the day'...
and SO WHAT if the 'wind in our faces' is mixed with a little rain? We can – and we will… make it through...
So - God Bless us all... For isn't this exactly what life is really all about? So we just be strong... and keep going...
