A day with my Original Abbie!

Monday
morning, with a hot cup of steaming chi tea, cradled
in a big earthen ware mug, I perched in Abbie’s
cozy… and artistically colorful, cluttered
kitchen and sipped the warm brew as she bustled
around - setting up the screen printing equipment.
We decided to get a head start on my promotional t-shirts and totes… and get the process started, but were rather bummed that the big, green, Anvil, recycled cotton totes had not been delivered yet… Boo!
Abbie did the inking, one by one, on each item - and showed me how to pull the item from the screen inker… and put it under the 400 degree iron heater to set the ink… it was hot, exacting work, but we had fun and talked endlessly and laughed… Abbie always makes me laugh.
We were just about finishing up… and mystically… she said out of the blue… “Maybe the Fed Ex guy brought the totes!” I almost said… “Yeah, and maybe Santa’s gonna come down the chimney!!!…” but as we leaned over - to glance out the window… the big white Fed Ex truck screatched to a halt at the curb in front of the house, and a little man (no long white beard) hopped OUT with our box! I wondered at that moment… if she was perhaps... kin to “Be-Witched” rather than my daughter! Did she wiggle her nose and make him appear?
So - laughing at the amazing luck we had… we quickly got the large, sage, green totes printed up too… and WOW are they are SO great! I’ll have them with me at the pub tonight – St. Stephen’s Green… for sale on Tuesday evenings…
So when I say that each of my items that I sell… were lovingly, hand crafted, locally (in Medford, NJ) with great attention to the quality and detail of each item… they were also done with good cheer on a joyous day… My Abbie’s a really great girl, and I’m so very proud of her!
FYI: I’ll be running some St. Paddy’s specials too! So take advantage of that! Save some $!!!

Aside from music... womens self defense class is awesome!

I know i
always write about music or related things...
but i have to say, i just finished up a women's self defense class at Paul Prendergast's Karate school... and it was amazing!!! Master Paul presented the women in my class with fantastic insight to potentially dangerous situations - and he did so with tremendous skill, knowledge and a dose of good humor... He gave us tools and showed us how to use them... and how we need to deal with potentially dangerous situations... He showed us how NOT to be a victim and be smart... I found it absolutely empowering (after i got over the initial freak out) and just wanted to say... anyone who has a woman they love... being a daughter, wife, mom, sister or friend... you may want to check into this course he offers there... it's invaluable!
