A surprise guest shows up at St. Stephen's Green!!!!!!!

Last night, during one of our special Sunday Session at St. Stephen's Green... We were all having a grand time, (as usual!) when the magnificent, gentleman piper - Matty Connolly walked into the pub, and stood listening to us. Philip recognized him immediately... I knew this was a big deal... because Philip got nervous and started messing up (more than he usually does!!!!! just joking) When our set ended... happy and excited hello's and introductions were exchanged all 'round... Philip had spent a week learning from Matty last year, and had greatly enjoyed listening to him play and sing during his concerts...

We were so honored that he would stop and listen to our modest - though fun loving... gathering of musicians!

With a promise to share a few tunes after he dined on the sumptuous fare of St. Stephen's Green, we kept the music going. Matty came back, and took up Philip's - Dave Williams set of full pipes with the Preshaw chanter... and graced us with haunting aires, songs, lively jigs, reels and - yes, i'll admit... some wonderful and beautiful hornpipes...

We were thrilled to have such a master musician in our midsts!!! He is charming, delightful and so gracious... he put us all at ease as we played along on his sets. It made our usually fun night at St. Stephen's Green Pub.... extra special, and one that will stand out for a long time!

Sea Girt Light House Concert gets noticed!

On Monday, August 18th, 2008... Jennifer and the Boys of County O'Cean presented a wonderful evening concert that was presented free to the public by teh Sea Girt Recreational Progarm up on the beach...
Sea Girt Gig
Jennifer, Philip, Frank, Bob and Lyn (though she laughlingly protestes about being one of the 'boys') played their lively, toe tapping traditional Irish Session Style Music and sang Celtic Songs both old and new.

A few hundred folks showed up, brought their lawn chairs and hung out in the cool summer air, enjoyed the music, some danced, tapped their feet, clapped and watched as various children danced for the sheer joy of it... It was a wonderful evening - capped off by a beautiful, huge orange moon, that rose over the ocean....

Thank you to everyone for coming out and supporting us! As always, its great to see our regular fands and friends from St. Stepehn's Green.
